California has several world-renowned ski resorts as well as small community supported ski hills. Many resorts also offer groomed cross-country ski trails and most provide rental equipment, food services and ski schools. All California resorts are ski and board friendly and most now offer terrain parks. Although this site is focused on California, some ski resorts on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe are listed below. Cedar Pass is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Alturas off Highway 299. The northeastern corner of California is probably the least visited region of the state. This is a small-scale resort with 1 T-bar and 1 rope-tow accessing 6 runs. 20% 35% 45%

Coppervale is located off Highway 36 between Westwood and Susanville. This ski hill is run by Lassen Community College. Coppervale is a small-scale resort with 1 lift and 1 rope-tow. NO RENTAL FACILITIES - bring your own equipment. unknown unknown unknown
Mt. Shasta Nordic Center offers 25-kilometers of groomed trails managed by the Mt. Shasta Ski Park. They are located one mile south of the downhill park off Highway 89. Lessons and rentals are available. Website
Lassen National Park offers several options for Nordic skiing including Colby Meadows, McGowan Lake, Bizz Johnson Recreational Trail and Lake Almanor. Website
Lassen National Forest offers a 29-mile snow covered road that has two branching backcountry trails to Forest Lake or Manzanita Lake. Trails begin at the Loomis Museum at the southwest entrance of the park, off Highway 89. Website
Weaverville offers hundreds of miles of trails through the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Snow-covered roads follow creeks and lead to meadows, up ridges and to the tops of mountains. Website
