Amargosa Opera House is located approximately 30 miles east of Furnace Creek in Death Valley and minutes from the Nevada border, at the junction of Highways 190 & 127. This historic theatre was revived in the late 60's from an almost certain fate of decay & ruin by an ambitious and inspired dancer & actress. Today, Marta Becket performs theatre and dance on Saturday nights and Sunday matinees during the fall, winter and spring months. Movie night is held on Friday nights. She spent four years painting the inside of the theatre with a 17th-century audience for the early days when she sometimes had no real audience. These days, it's a packed house and reservations are recommended.
